There is a visible difference between a control panel built by someone who knows the trade and one that merely works for now: wire sized and prepared correctly, components squared up on the DIN rail, conductors routed in a raceway instead of draped across the enclosure, grounds actually tested rather than assumed. That difference is what an inspector looks for and what the next technician has to live with.
This course teaches you to install, test, and commission electrical motor control circuits to that standard. You will work with control cabinet enclosures, three-phase AC motors, reversing magnetic motor starters with overloads, control and timer relays, pushbutton, selector, limit, and pressure switches, indicators, electro-pneumatic solenoid valves, safety disconnect switches, and circuit protection. Along the way, you will follow motor control installation safety rules and use proper PPE, read electrical wiring installation diagrams, size circuit protection, mount components on DIN rails and cabinet panels, install and test ground systems, wire motors for high and low voltage, select and prepare wire, land conductors on terminal strips, components, and motors, and route wire through raceways and conduit.
This course prepares you to test for the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) C-206 Electrical System Installation 1 certification.
