Misalignment is one of the most common and most expensive causes of premature bearing, seal, and coupling failure in rotating equipment. Laser shaft alignment has become the global standard for correcting it, producing faster and more precise results than dial indicators or a straight edge and feeler gauges, without the indicator sag, reading resolution limits, and parallax errors those older methods introduce.
In this hands-on course you will install, configure, adjust, and operate a laser shaft alignment system to bring mechanical power transmission shafts into precision alignment. You will practice laser system safety rules, use jackbolts to perform rough alignments, detect and correct soft foot with the laser system, and determine the proper alignment tolerances for a machine from the manufacturer's documentation.
This course prepares you to test for the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) C-302 Laser Shaft Alignment 1 certification.
