Maintenance used to mean a clipboard, a grease gun, and whatever the senior tech remembered about the machine. In an Industry 4.0 plant, the work order arrives on a phone, the machine's service history lives in the cloud, and the department is measured on numbers anyone can pull up: overall equipment effectiveness and hours of downtime. This course teaches maintenance the way that plant runs it.
You will interpret maintenance work orders, receive and respond to them via mobile and cloud technologies, and use a cloud-based maintenance management system to record and analyze machine and process history. You will carry out preventive maintenance schedules with electronic record-keeping, and perform the hands-on work those schedules call for: cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machines. You will also calculate overall equipment effectiveness and machine downtime, identify practical methods to reduce downtime, and apply basic troubleshooting methods to find root causes rather than treat symptoms.
This course prepares you to test for the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) C-211 Industry 4.0 Total Productive Maintenance certification.
