Class B Commercial Driver's License Certificate(CDL)

CourseGraphic This two-week Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training program is a proficiency-based program so you progress through the program as you master the content. This program will teach you how to operate trucks that require a Class B CDL license, such as concrete mixer trucks, snow plows, garbage trucks, and buses. You will develop skills in backing, turning, and safe driving on both rural and suburban roads and become proficient in vehicle inspections. Your training will include individual and classroom instruction and hands-on driving using simulators and full-size semi tractors. We have implemented Entry Level Driver Training.  You must become proficient in every skill before testing.  Proficient is the completion of a task 2 times without instruction.  Upon completion, you will take your vehicle inspections, DOT skills, and driving tests at Hawkeye to obtain your Class B CDL.

Please read:  Must have CLP (Commercial Learner Permit) after you obtain your permit, you must register with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/, then you must pass a (DOT) physical and pre-employment DOT drug screening. Then you may register. Instructions on how to submit this information will be sent to you after registration. Must have held a valid drivers license for 2 years. Tuition pays for books and training and does not include a DOT drug test ($50-$100), CDL permit ($12), and DOT physical ($80-$150).
