Pharmacy Technician

This program prepares students to be professional pharmacy technicians dedicated to quality pharmacy procedures. Graduates are equipped to assist the pharmacist filling prescriptions according to doctor's orders. Pharmacy Technicians also participate in ordering products and inventory control as well as billing and receiving payments. The course will be 64 hours in the classroom, and 160 hours of clinical in a local pharmacy.  The course fee includes your textbook and certification exam approved by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. High school or equivalent level education required. A drug screen, health physical and background check will be required. Your clinical hours are due one year from the start of the course.
