Would you like to help decrease turnover in long term care and community-based settings? Improve the retention rate of direct care staff by building capacity in your health organization to train direct care staff to be mentors to each other. Participants will increase their knowledge and skills needed to build and sustain a successful mentor program. Includes discussion on potential benefits and challenges of peer mentoring. Participants will receive Iowa CareGivers "A Call to Mentoring Manager Toolkit, Instructor Training Manual, Peer Mentor Toolkit" and other training resources. This class is approved for 6 contact hours for nurses, by Hawkeye Community College, IBON provider #5. Other professionals will receive 6 CEU's. Full attendance is required. No partial credit will be awarded.
