Math is where a lot of capable people lose time and money on the floor: a fraction misread off a print, a conversion run the wrong direction, an area calculation that puts the wrong quantity on the material order. This course rebuilds that foundation from the ground up, at whatever pace you need, with no assumption about what you remember from school.
You will work through whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, including exponents, square roots, and order of operations, then move into ratio and proportion, percentages, and descriptive statistics, where you will read and build graphs and find the mean, median, and mode. From there, the course covers converting length, weight, and volume in both U.S. Customary and metric units; an introduction to geometry, including perimeter, area, volume, angle relationships, the Pythagorean Theorem, and similar triangles; and an introduction to algebra, including signed numbers, algebraic expressions, and solving linear equations in one variable. Word problems run through every unit, and you will learn to use a scientific calculator with confidence rather than guesswork.
