Key components include basic safety, covering job site safety, PPE, and OSHA 10 certification; construction math, which reviews measurement systems, decimals, fractions, and geometry; hand and power tools, focusing on operation, maintenance, and safety; and construction drawings, teaching an interpretation of drawings, symbols, and dimensions. An elective in basic rigging covers rigging hardware, safety, and operations. Communication and employability skills focus on effective communication, problem-solving, and positive workplace interactions, while materials handling addresses safety in handling materials and equipment use. Graduates receive the NCCER Core Curriculum: Introductory Craft Skills certification, Construction Safety certification, and OSHA 10 certification, equipping them for further education in construction crafts.
