Hawkeye’s Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training program prepares adults for a high-demand career in truck driving. Students develop safe driving skills such as backing, turning, and driving on rural and suburban roads using full-size semi-trucks and simulators. Training is proficiency-based, allowing students up to six weeks to master each skill before testing. Flexible scheduling options include morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. Once proficient, students complete their DOT vehicle inspection, skills, and road tests at Hawkeye to earn a Class A CDL. Graduates may pursue careers as truck drivers, spotters, or shag drivers.
