IV Therapy for the LPN Hybrid

This course prepares LPNs to perform expanded intravenous therapy in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and certified end-stage renal dialysis units for clients aged 12 or older and weighing 80 pounds or more. The course is hybrid, with asynchronous online instruction and an in-person lab at Hawkeye Community College. Clinical practice begins after the lab and must be completed within 60 days, with a 30-day extension available.
To enroll, LPNs must have a current Iowa license, 1040 hours of practice, and work in a facility allowing IV therapy procedures. The course awards 43 contact hours, and the textbook is included.
