Certificate Series : CDL Tests Full Set - Pre-Trip, Skills, Road

Tuition $300.00

Description: DOT certified third party testing is available for individuals seeking to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL A).  CDL testing has three phases: Pre-Trip, Skills Test, and Road Test. The tests must be taken and passed in this sequence. You must hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) for at least 14 days before you can complete the required tests. We recommend you schedule the test time once you receive your CLP as Hawkeye must record your CLP information in Commercial Skills Test Information Management System (CSTIMS) and verification takes at least two business days.

Upon successful registration you will need to contact Hawkeye's Regional Transportation and Training Center (RTTC) to schedule your test date and time. We offer flexible scheduling every day of the week including evenings and weekends.  Failing any one test will require a re-test at the additional cost of $100 per testing occurrence. Individual tests are available for purchase on our site under DMV Testing sub-category.  Upon successfully passing all three CDL tests in the series you may obtain your CDL at any driver's license issuance location.

Please click on the links for the helpful study resources.  Pre-Trip Inspection Video, Pre-Trip Study Aid, Pre-Trip Manual, Skills Test Manual and Road Test Manual.

Series : Bus Tests Full Set - Pre-Trip, Skills, Road

Tuition $300.00

Description: Hawkeye Community College offers DOT certified third party testing for individuals seeking to obtain a School Bus Commercial Driver's License.  There are three phases of the Bus CDL testing: Pre-Trip, Skills Test and Road Test; tests must be taken and passed in this sequence.  You must hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) for at least 14 days before you can complete the required Pre-Trip, Skills and Road tests.  It is recommended to schedule the test time upon receiving your CLP since Hawkeye must record your CLP information in Commercial Skills Test Information Management System (CSTIMS); verification takes at least two (2) business days. Note, you will not be able to test until 14 days have passed since the issuance of your CLP.

Individuals tests are available for purchase on our site under DMV Testing sub-category.  Upon successfully passing all three Bus CDL tests in the series you may obtain your Bus license at any driver's license issuance location.
