In this interactive seminar, hygienists discuss a variety of clinical dental hygiene and dental practice challenges via group exercises and case studies. Participants are requested to submit challenges they have faced at the start of the program; the speaker also presents a variety of miscellaneous issues that can arise within the scope of daily dental hygiene practice. Example: Patient has huge bilateral mandibular tori, and is a gagger. How do we x-ray effectively? How do we motivate patients who are non-compliant? How do address inflammatory conditions that may be systemically linked, such as Lichenplanus? How do we manage referral challenges with our doctors? Efforts are made to attain group feedback and resolution. Reference between a community college dental hygiene clinic program setting (the ideal) and real world private practice are studied and compared as needed.Dental Continuing Education Classes. Full Attendance is required.
