CourseGraphic Learn fundamental oil painting techniques used for centuries since the development of the medium. Working from a still-life, you will develop a painting in stages and layers. During this process, various painting techniques will be introduced such as imprimatura, scumbling, glazing, and others. Each class begins with a brief description of the particular technique as well as a demonstration by the instructor. Explore important painting techniques, such as: color mixing, color value, composition, glazing, brushwork, paint application, texture, and more. You will spend the majority of the class painting, during which the instructor will offer help and critique. Canvas and paints provided. Youth 15+ may register.

Please read:  Please note that water mixable oils are used in this class. No turnpenoid or solvents are needed. However, it is recommended that you bring an apron or wear old clothes. Also, please note classroom change since catalog was printed. This is now held on main campus in the Fine Art classroom.
