This instructional unit provides the participant with the basic knowledge of materials, procedures, and techniques necessary in performing the placement of temporary filling materials.
Instructional Objective: After this instructional unit, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify various methods and procedures used for temporary filling materials.
2. Identify characteristics of materials.
3. Identify how, when, and where to use a fulcrum, mirror, and instrument intraorally.
Minimum number of total hours: Didactic hours: 2 Lab Hours: 1 with a minimum of 2 experiences
Minimum number of patient experiences: Clinical/Patient: 5 patient experiences in the dental office under observational supervision
Continuing Education Units: 3 (2 hr didactic and 2 hrs clinical)
