Hawkeye Community College offers DOT certified third party testing for individuals seeking to obtain a School Bus Commercial Driver's License.  There are three phases of the Bus CDL testing: Pre-Trip, Skills Test and Road Test; tests must be taken and passed in this sequence.  You must hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) for at least 14 days before you can complete the required Pre-Trip, Skills and Road tests.  It is recommended to schedule the test time upon receiving your CLP since Hawkeye must record your CLP information in Commercial Skills Test Information Management System (CSTIMS); verification takes at least two (2) business days. Note, you will not be able to test until 14 days have passed since the issuance of your CLP. Upon successful registration you will need to contact Hawkeye's Regional Transportation and Training Center (RTTC) to schedule your test date and time. We offer flexible scheduling every day of the week including evenings and weekends.  Failing any one test will require a re-test at the additional cost of $100 per testing occurrence. Individuals tests are available for purchase on our site under DMV Testing sub-category.  Upon successfully passing all three Bus CDL tests in the series you may obtain your Bus license at any driver's license issuance location. 3D printing has been hailed as a solution to all manufacturing problems. Obviously that is exaggerated, but what is it good for, and when is traditional manufacturing still the better choice? In this course you will learn how to separate the real promise of the technology from the hype, and understand the workflow for a consumer-level 3D printer. You will become familiar with some typical online databases of objects available to print, and get a bit of experience with free or open-source software for all stages of the process. This class will be primarily focused to introduce you to the tools of the open 3D printer ecosystem, but the principles will apply to consumer 3D printers in general.
